September 2019 TBR | The One With All The Chunky Books

Hi lovelies! Happy September 🍂 I know we’re almost a week in already, but I seem to have been procrastinating like crazy on writing this blog post 😬 Ah well, I’m here now and that’s what matters, right? 🤭 Today I’m bringing you my September TBR, or at least my initial September TBR 😂 I tend to be a major mood reader, but I did so well with the N.E.W.T.s that I figured I’d have a TBR list again this month. We’ll see what happens without the motivation of a readathon behind it 🤭

Anyway, I chose 7 books to start off with, and as of writing this post, I’ve actually already finished my first read 😂 I don’t want to ramble on too much though, so without further ado, here are the books I hope to get to this month, starting with the new-to-me reads! 🤭

A GATHERING OF SHADOWS BY V.E. SCHWAB
528 pages | Series: Shades Of Magic #2

As some of you already know, I read A Darker Shade Of Magic for the first time in August and I absolutely LOVED it. I adore V.E. Schwab’s writing style and I can’t wait to see what Kell and Lila get up to in this sequel. I haven’t even read the synopsis for this book yet, but I’m sure it’s going to be absolutely amazing 🤭

WHITE CAT BY HOLLY BLACK
310 pages | Series: Curse Workers #1

I don’t know a damn thing about this trilogy, other than it gets a lot of very mixed reviews. I’m always a bit on the fence about Holly Black, but I’ve owned the third book in this series for YEARS (long story 😂) so I thought I may as well pick up the others and finally start this trilogy!

PASSENGER BY ALEXANDRA BRACKEN
496 pages | Series: Passenger #1

Confession time: this was a TOTAL cover buy. I found both books in this duology on eBay and I just couldn’t resist. I know people do love them, but I wasn’t a huge fan of The Darkest Minds, so I was a bit dubious about it. All I really know about it is that it’s a sci-fi with time travel? It sounds fun, so I’ll give it a go 😂

KING OF FOOLS BY AMANDA FOODY
602 pages | Series: The Shadow Game #2

I read Ace Of Shades at the end of last month and I was absolutely blown away by how much I loved it. I ordered a copy of the sequel immediately and knew I had to start it right away, so I have already read this book 🤭 I absolutely love the world that Amanda Foody has created 😍

THE PRIORY OF THE ORANGE TREE BY SAMANTHA SHANNON
831 pages | Series: N/A

You guys, it’s finally time. I’m ready to tackle this absolute BEHEMOTH of a book. I know this is going to take me a while to get through, so I’ve already started it. I’m like, 130 pages in and I’m enjoying it so far! The dragons especially are super fascinating 🤭 It weighs a ton, but I’m finally reading it and that’s what matters!

CONTINUING ON MY HARRY POTTER RE-READ…

So as some of you already know, I decided to start re-reading the Harry Potter series in August. I haven’t read these books in about 6 years, and I have to say that I missed this world more than I realised! This series will always have a super special place in my heart 😍 I’ve already started reading Goblet Of Fire and I’m loving it so, so much. I can’t wait to get to Order Of The Phoenix. That’s where the series starts to get REAL good 🤭

But there you have it, seven books I hope to get to in September! If I’m being perfectly honest, this will probably change because #moodreader, but I tried, and that’s what counts. What are some books that you’re hoping to get to this month? Let me know down in the comments 😊

You are so brave for reading The Priority of the Orange Tree!! 800 pages?! HOLY COW! 🤯 I hope those 800 pages are jam packed and worth the time investment! Good luck on your TBR!

“the one with all the chunky books” That cracked me up! I have a section of my unread bookshelf dedicated to the books that intimidate me (i.e. the chunky ones). I’m such a mood reader, too! I hope you’re able to get through your entire TBR this month!
