October TBR | The One With All The Autumn Vibes

Hi lovelies! Happy October! 🍂 How it’s already October is beyond me, but here we are. I’m here today with my TBR for the month, and boy is it an ambitious one 🤔 In fact, there’s one more on this list than the picture shows since it doesn’t get released for another few days 😂

Since we’re officially into autumn now, I thought I’d try and choose books that give me autumnal vibes. Fantasy, mystery, thrillers, that kind of thing. However, I’m a HUGE wimp, so I couldn’t choose anything too scary 😱 Nevertheless, the books I’ve chosen definitely give me all the autumn vibes, so I can’t wait to see what October brings 😍

Anyway, that’s enough rambling. Time to get on with the books! There’s a few of them, so grab a snack because we’re going to be here a while 😬

NINTH HOUSE BY LEIGH BARDUGO
480 pages | Ninth House #1

Okay, I thought I’d kick off this list with the one book that I don’t own yet, and the one book I’m MOST excited to read 🤭 I pre-ordered the Waterstones edition all the way back in June, and I CAN’T WAIT to finally get my hands on it. As soon as I pick it up, you can bet your ass I’ll be starting it 😍

STALKING JACK THE RIPPER BY KERRI MANISCALCO
327 pages | Stalking Jack The Ripper #1

This is a series that EVERYONE raves about, and since the final book in the series was just released, I thought I’d give it a shot. I’ve actually already read this book because I’m a badass and I have to say that I can understand the hype 😍 It was such a great read, and perfect for the autumn season!

NEVERNIGHT BY JAY KRISTOFF
463 pages | The Nevernight Chronicle #1

YOU GUYS. It’s finally happening. I’m finally hopping aboard the Jay Kristoff express. This will be my first ever Kristoff novel and I am PUMPED. And also kind of terrified, to be honest 😂 This series gets so much love, and I’m just not sure how I’m going to feel about it 😬

THE KISS OF DECEPTION BY MARY E. PEARSON
489 pages | The Remnant Chronicles #1

I see a lot of buzz on Instagram about the spin-off duology set in this world, and even though I’m pretty sure you don’t have to have read the original trilogy in order to enjoy the spin-off, I’m a stickler for reading things in order 😂 This series has been on my radar for years and I can’t wait to finally see what all the fuss is about!

JANE EYRE BY CHARLOTTE BRONTE
571 pages | Standalone

This is actually a book I added after I initially created my TBR, solely because someone told me I should read it and that it’s perfect for this time of year. I’ve never read a single classic in my life and it’s something I do want to cross off my list, so I’ll give it a go. We’ll see if I can manage to get through it 😬

THE BINDING BY BRIDGET COLLINS
437 pages | Standalone

Okay, confession: this was a TOTAL cover buy, and if I’m being perfectly honest, I still don’t really know what it’s about 😂 I’ve heard some really good things about this book, though, and that cover just gives me so many autumn vibes that it would be a sin not to read it soon 🤭

YOU BY CAROLINE KEPNES
422 pages | You #1

So I MAY have picked this book up purely because there was nothing else in the 3 for £5 offer at The Works that I was particularly interested in 😂 I haven’t seen the Netflix adaptation, but I’ve heard some amazing things about both the book and the show, so I’m definitely curious. I hate this cover, but hey, it was basically £1.67 🤭

ZOMBIES VS. UNICORNS BY HOLLY BLACK, JUSTINE LARBALESTIER, ET AL.
415 pages | Anthology

Guys, this book has been sat on my shelf, unread, for EIGHT FREAKING YEARS. What the hell 😂 I think it’s high time I read this collection of short stories, especially since the book is almost a decade old at this point 🤭 I’ll probably leave this until Halloween week because, well, zombies, but we’ll see what happens.

A CONJURING OF LIGHT BY V.E. SCHWAB
672 pages | Shades Of Magic #3

A Gathering Of Shadows was one of my favourite reads of September, so of course I ordered this book the day the collector’s edition was released 🤭 I’m currently reading this book, and I have to say that I’m going to be SO upset saying goodbye to these characters. Lila and Kell are EVERYTHING 😍

THE WELL OF ASCENSION BY BRANDON SANDERSON
781 pages | Mistborn #2

So I did a thing. During the last three days of September, I FINALLY read my first ever Brandon Sanderson novel. And you know what? I loved itThe Final Empire might just make it onto my favourite books of the year list, and I’m hoping the rest of the series is just as amazing! I can’t wait to read this sequel 😍

THE BOOKS I WANT TO RE-READ…

Okay, so as much as I love both of these books, neither of them are particularly high priority. I’ll potentially read Half-Blood Prince whilst reading Ninth House, but if I don’t get to A Court Of Mist & Fury in October, it’s fine. I’ll just read it in November 🤭

So there you have the twelve (😱) books I hope to get to in October! Have you read any of these books? If so, which ones are your favourites? Let me know in the comments below 😘

Jane Eyre is one of my favourite books of all time 😍 I also love Jane Austen books.
Also I watched You on Netflix and quite enjoyed it and do want to read the book eventually. I’m going to have to start a big TBR as recommend by Beks list on my Goodreads. A Beks shelf 🤭
